SOCCER TIME!!!

Soccer has been keeping us super busy!  I was talked in to helping coach this year by one of the board members of GCYSO.  I am super glad I got involved.  I am coaching a U10 team (Holdyn's team) and they are doing GREAT!  I don't have any photo's of Holdyn yet because I have been coaching during her games and forget to get the camera out.

I am also assistant coaching Kimber's team, keeping us extra busy in the evenings and on weekends.  Here are some action shots of Kimber playing her heart out.
Kimber is so funny, she LOVES soccer.  LOVES practices, but does NOT like to play in the games.  It is like pulling teeth.  She is the most competitive girl at home, but she gets on the field and "Super nice Kimber" comes to play. She is starting to get the hang of being more aggressive a little more each game.
Cody is a champ, playing on the sidelines during practices and games.
He is getting pretty good at dribbling the ball too!

We are loving Soccer, but also excited the season is half way over.  We have games through mid November.  I will be excited to have a few more evenings at home!

3rd Grade Field Trip to Bill Evans Lake

Holdyn and the third grade classes at Jose Barrios Elementary had a great day!
The NM Game and Fish have a program where they host field trips.
They have all of the equipment and teach the kids all about the lake and water.

Mr. Piper taught the kids how to put the poles together, tie on their hooks on the line and bait their own hooks.  Holdyn, being the experienced pro that she is, was able to help a lot of the other kids with their equipment.  She was excited to be so helpful and have the kids asking her how to do it.
They learned about the water and looked at plants, water, and scales under the microscopes.
He taught them about the Gila terrain.
Snack time is always a favorite.

The most memorable part of the day was when they dissected their fish in small groups.  They took apart the eye and looked through the fish lens, took apart the gills, looked at the heart and brain.  Took apart the stomach and saw what the fish last ate.
Totally grusome, but so much fun!

Cody and I were so lucky to be able to tag along and help.  It is so fun being able to be involved with the classes of my girlios.

Grant County Fair 2014

We started out early that Saturday morning!  We were on the road to catch up with the Rocko's in Cliff, NM just before 7am.
We got there and Holdyn warmed up on Big Jon.
She was in 3 events:  The Poles, barrels, and flags.
She did all of the patterns perfectly and had so much fun!
We had quite the set up in the back of the truck in the shade.
Holdyn also got to be in the Grand Entry at the beginning of the Jr. Rodeo.
She followed the flags in and lined up with the other kids for the national anthem and prayer.  It was so fun to see her in that.

After her events we ran through the exhibits and saw that Holdyn's 3rd grade class had won a Grand Prize ribbon and we found Kimber's class project too.

My three little cowkids.  I sure love'em!
After we got home from the rodeo and fair Holdyn and I got gussied up and put our dresses on to head to the LDS General Women's Conference.  We went out to a 'fancy' restaurant and had such a fun time together! I love that she is gets to go with me now that she is 8.  But she really does need to stop growing up so fast!

1st Day Of School 2014

Here is our 1st Grader Kimber!  She has Mrs. Nanez this year!
Holdyn is ready to ROCK 3rd Grade with Ms. Piercy!

This girl cracks me up....if you thought we have had lizards and snails surprise us in her backpack after school, you'd be RIGHT!  She even had one squished, dead lizard in one of the little pockets.  I was sure that I wouldn't have to worry about this kind of stuff until Cody got bigger.

We LOVE Jose Barrios Elementary!  Clifford randomly showed up to meet the kids at school a few weeks into the school year! Such a fun surprise!

Some Random Catch Ups

We have been busy and I haven't been keeping up with my pictures.
So here is a little recap of some more fun days we've been able to enjoy.
One of our most favorite places in Silver City is at the Rocko's.  All of my kids love the Rocko family and LOVE going to their house to visit and ride horses and play with their dogs.
The Elders serving in our stake also put on a talent show.  I worked with a friend and helped get a group of girls together to perform a glow in the dark dance to the song, "Everything is Awesome!"  We had over 10 friends from school who belong to other religions participate with us.  It turned out to be a huge success!  The girls all LOVED it!
Sadly none of the performance pictures in the dark turned out, but here is one of Kimber modeling the glow sticks before the performance.  It is always fun to get up on stage and show off!
An oldie but goodie picture of these two.
Cody loves to help in the kitchen....especially when he gets to lick the beaters.
Another random picture of our house before we moved in.
I used to have a love/hate relationship with this new little dog we call Stewy.
But as you can see from the picture below, my relationship has now turned into a hate/hate.
He LOVES Kimber, but he has a bit of separation anxiety when we leave the house if we don't kennel him up.  He has gone through the blinds twice now.....needless to say, he now stays outside!

 Showing off in their PJ's.

We had a super fun 4th of July!  We met up with some good friends who have moved to Safford, AZ.  Lexi and her parents are missed!
 Happy Independence Day!

Taking the dogs for a walk!

If you notice, Ben is not in many of these pictures....we are ready for this residency/training phase to be OVER so we can see him around sometimes!
