The day finally arrived. We made it to Albuquerque and tried to make the week full of fun. Kimber wanted to go to the indoor bounce house for her birthday so we hit it up. I cannot find all of my pictures but here is one of lil Cody racing me through one of the bouncy houses.
Kimber had a full day of Dr's appointments for the regular CF stuff then more for the surgery prep.
Nothing beats playing games while doing her vest so they could go swim in the hotel pool.
She couldn't eat after 10pm the night before surgery and she was scheduled for 1pm on June 25. She was so thirsty and hungry to say the least!! (So were we.) She was pretty upset and nervous about the surgery and being hungry and tired did NOT help the situation as we waited, and waited, and waited for her to be called back.
Poor girl has to do a lot of things she she doesn't like to do.
Overall, she is a really good sport.
THANK YOU Anesthesiology for giving her some 'happy juice.'
She was hilarious as the meds took effect.
She tried to climb inside her hair net and kept saying it was a boomerang and was giggling uncontrollably. I wish I had some of that 'pink juice' at home!
It took awhile for her to wake up after the surgery....she was pretty miserable!
But she still pulled off a smile for the camera.
We couldn't have been happier with how things went. She was a trooper and they had her stay overnight due to her CF to watch for any complications. She did great and recovered very quickly! Good work Kimber!!
